Citizen's Fire Academy

Class Objectives:

  • Expose Residents on the Inner Workings of the Brecksville Fire Department
  • Introduce Residents to the Level of EMS care and Services provided by BFD
  • Earn Your CPR Certification and Perform Hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Showcase the Capabilities of the Trucks, Equipment, and Firefighters of BFD and Try on their Gear
  • Educate Residents on Fire Safety & Prevention in the home
  • Learn Emergency Preparedness Tips for Your Home, Office, and the College Dorm
  • Extra Saturday Class on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care & Stop the Bleed Programs
  • Have FUN!

Introduction Chief Zamiska & Staff – Monday, March 9 from 6:30-9pm

CPR Certification – Monday, March 16 from 6:30-9pm
 with Firefighters DiGeronimo & Watral

EMS Operations – Monday, March 23 from 6:30-9pm
 with Firefighters Gordon & Parkhurst

TECC/Stop the bleed – Saturday, March 28 from 9:00am-Noon
 with Firefighters Sirl & Packard

Home Safety – Mon. Mar. 30 from 6:30-9pm
 with Firefighters Packard & Sternad

Fire/Rescue Ops – Mon. Apr. 6 from 6:30-9pm
 with Firefighters Lt. Bender & Lt. Lenarth

Graduation/Reception – Mon. Apr. 13 from 6:30-9pm
 Mayor Hruby, Chief Zamiska & Brecksville Firefighters

Classes located at Brecksville Fire Station, 9023 Brecksville Road.

Must Be a Resident of the City of Brecksville and Must be 18 years of age or older. No Cost to Attend!
