Cancellations and Closures

Memorial Day, Monday, May 25

Due to the pandemic virus and limited gatherings per the Governors stay a home order, we will reluctantly cancel our Memorial Day Parade. This was a painful decision based upon the magnitude of our city’s past commitment to this remembrance. This does not mean that we must cancel our recognition of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, protecting and preserving our freedoms. We are planning a video tribute and remembrance that will be available on line. As a portion of the presentation, We are asking the community families, and friends to submit to the City pictures illustrating you and your families “thanks” to our veterans and to those who perished in the service of our nation. This could be as simple as a picture of your family holding a sign, or a picture of you and a veteran or a photograph of a family member or members that served.  We thank you in advance for your assistance with this project. We will be providing further information as we continue our planning for this Memorial Day.
