On behalf of Mayor Hruby and City Council, and the entire City family we express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of former City Council President Michael T. Harwood who passed away on April 12, 2022. Mike's family was so very special to him. His wife Debbie, daughter Emily, son Daniel, mother Carole Harwood, brother Tim, sister Patricia and the entire Harwood family are in our thoughts and prayers and we acknowledge the loving care, support and strong faith provided to Mike throughout his illness. Mike was truly blessed with such a wonderful family.

We acknowledge the many contributions and leadership of this fine man. We are so very thankful to his family to have shared him with us during his tenure on City Council. Mike clearly was an unselfish leader whose footsteps can be seen throughout the many City projects, our youth organizations and the path to many friendships. Mike served 12 years on City Council, all 12 in Council leadership as President or Vice-President. If only we could enjoy one more of Mike's smiles.
May he rest in peace and may we all find comfort in the wonderful memories we have of this remarkable man.
