Applications Now Being Accepted for District’s Adult Education Program

Garfield Heights, Ohio – The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is now accepting applications for the Cuyahoga County Recycling Ambassador Program.

Cuyahoga County's Recycling Ambassador course is an advanced learning, recycling education and training opportunity for adults. The program offers participants an in-depth study of waste reduction, composting, and recycling. Recycling Ambassadors are trained to work in their communities and help improve recycling by serving as their neighborhood’s “subject matter expert” on recycling.

The course is offered 3 or 4 times per year and consists of four 2-hour classes, held virtually through online meetings. Classes, held in the evening on Wednesdays or Thursdays, are taught by Solid Waste District staff members. Virtual or in-person tours of recycling facilities, businesses and organizations are held quarterly as a continuing education component.

The next Recycling Ambassador course will be held on Thursdays in October.

  • Fall 2021: Thursdays -- October 7, 14, 21 and 28 (6:00-8:00 PM)
